If you are going to Mont-Saint-Michel from Paris, you will probably need to transfer in Rennes. There is a nice french restaurant there, also nice for business meetings. It is just located steps from the rail station, and I think it is a good value.
One of the classic meat based dish from their menu is the Calf’s brain.So it a good occasion for me to taste this part of the animal. The meat comes with a special sauce made with Dijon Mustard, helping you forgetting the strong meat taste.
Nice find, this Basque restaurant is a gem, I really felt like i as in southwest of France.
The Main Dining Room
Basque specialties are well done here, really, I cannot name any wrong detail here. Maybe the waiting time ? But for me since I come for fresh and house made food, I won’t really care. The menu is simple but rotates frequently, and the cooks only use seasonal products. I ordered an appetizer and a main dish from the three or four offered daily.

It looks like a jewelry store, but everything displayed is so affordable!
The back room
On a discrete street, this pastry shop with large windows, the place is inviting you to enter and discover their wonders artisanally made every day.

I’ve also been to Coutume Café for their brunch, which costs between 25 and 30 euros. I was seduced by the Detox Veggie Brunch, I really felt tired that day!
It is good to discover new drinks, “Le Cherbet” was totally unknown to me. It is in fact a lemon squash drink mix mixed with milk. Really efficient to make me feel more awake.
The weekend brunch is freshly made by order, despite the food looked so beautiful, colorful and appetizing….. I wasn’t delighted by the food. My mouth didn’t got the same appealing. Veggies are fresh, and well-selected.

Restaurant front door – Tempero
The interesting point is the menu: original and attractive, a culinary mix I really enjoyed. I also appreciated to be able to overlook at the kitchen from my table. It is always nice to see the see the action and what is happening behind the oven.
