I was looking for a nice Balinese restaurant in Paris, and I think I found it. It is almost perfect, during all the diner time, I almost forgot I was in France. All the staff seems to be really coming from Indonesia.
Decoration a bit too “bling-bling” to me. Especially outside… But it is true the restaurant is located on a small street, far from the crowd, they need to be seen.
Last Saturday night, almost all tables were booked, so there no doubt you need to book a table in advance to enjoy their food.
On my plate, from the DJAKARTA Rijsttafel menu – 25€ – (Not available on Friday nights):
GADO-GADO : Peanut sauce on top of a salad. Too bad they only offer green beans and carrot.
OPOR AYAM : Chicken in light coconut milk. Again, too bad there is only two small pieces of chicken in the soup.
ACAR MENTAH : Sweet & sour salad.
MIE HUN : sauteed vermicelli in soy sauce.
NASI PUTIH : white rice. Perfumed, really nice.
The restaurant is really clean, and the waitress is always available if you need something.
Final words: Good to spend a moment is a quite place. But if you are looking for authentic taste, it is far from the food you can get in Indonesia. I may say the menu is really adapt to french taste.
